We are involved in multiple design projects for the City of Lone Tree, CO. One of the largest is an annual budget book detailing the key budget initiatives for the upcoming year, public works projects and new construction, along with departmental information and community and cultural outreach projects and their financial impacts.

Other projects include city and departmental logo design, direct mailers, info graphics and maps.

What we did.

Comprised of 6 main sections, the 130+ page book is mostly city and financial-related text with data displayed in graphs and tables. Each year a new design template is created, incorporating elements outside of the city’s official brand standards.

The biggest challenge is visually communicating large amounts of financial information in a way that is easy to understand. The final product is provided as a printed, spiral-bound book for the city staff and governmental officials, as well as an interactive pdf made available to all city residents, including easy to use navigational elements.

Why it works.

Books like these are never on the best-seller list. The information is dry and mostly not relatable for the general population. This is where having a great design to visually appeal to an audience is so important. New colors and fresh photos from the recent community events help bring vibrance and city-wide enthusiasm for the upcoming year.

We color-code tabbed sections as well as offer several digital navigation options to help with readability and overall ease of use.
